An exit poll: Mikhail Saakashvili wins 52.5% votes
According to preliminary results of an exit poll held by the Caucasus Institute for Peace, Democracy and Development, GIPA, the Foundation for Strategic and International Studies and Chavchavadze State University contracted by four Georgian TV-channels (Public Television, Rustavi 2, Mze and Ajar Television), candidate from the ruling party Mikhail Saakashvili received 52.5% of the votes, a REGNUM correspondent informs.
As Gia Nodia, the director of the Caucasus Institute for Peace, Democracy and Development, announced at a news conference today, Levan Gachechiladze wins 28.5% of the votes, Arkady (Badri) Patarkatsishvili 6%, David Gamkrelidze 3.6%, Shalva Natelashvili 5.5%, Mikhail Saakashvili 52.5%, Giorgi Maisashvili 0.8%, Irina Sarishvili 0.4%. 0.9% more of the voters said they were voting against all, 23% refused to answer the question. He noted that the results of the exit poll were summed up by 04:00 p.m. Final results of the voting are expected to be announced at 11:00 p.m. Gia Nodia noted 7,379 people were questioned. The exit poll was held with support of international advisers.
