Georgian opposition bewildered why ruling party celebrates Saakashvili’s victory
Salome Zourabichvili from the united Georgian opposition called unintelligible celebrations by the ruling party of victory of its candidate grounding on data of an exit poll ordered by four Georgian TV-channels, a REGNUM correspondent reports.
The celebration is based on data that are not trustworthy and are aimed at provoking us, Salome Zourabichvili noted. According to her, sociological polls saying the opposition candidate won appeared even earlier, but they did not start celebrating. We are law-abiding citizens, we shall be waiting for final protocols of the territorial election commissions and do not plan to yield to provocations of the authorities, declared Zourabichvili. She called up her supporters to be fighting for the election outcomes till the end and bring copies of the voting protocols to Tbilisi. We have information that we won at 15 polling stations in Tbilisi, and the struggle for our votes and protocols has only started, the politician said. She added that the opposition would start celebrating only after the official outcomes are announced.
