77% Georgians voted for NATO membership – Central Election Commission

77% of the Georgian voters cast their ballot for NATO membership, says an official announcement of the outcomes of the 5 January plebiscite made by the Georgian Central Election Commission. The voters were asked the question: “Do you support the idea of Georgia’s NATO membership?”

79.74% voters answered positively to the second question of the referendum: “Do you support the idea of calling up the parliamentary elections this spring?”
