Police: Ivan Burgudji has been arrested, because he had been a subject to federal arrest warrant
Department of Internal Affairs of South Tushino Municipal District of Moscow confirmed the detainment fact of Ivan Burgudji, human rights defender of the Autonomous Territorial Unit (ATU) of Gagauzia (Moldova). The police have rejected the further comments, only stressing, that cause of Burgudji’s arrest had been done upon federal retrieval, reports a REGNUM correspondent.
They have not informed in the police department whether Burgudji will be extradited to Moldavian authorities.
REGNUM correspondent met the son of Ivan Burgudji –Viktor at the entrance of the local police department’s building, who told the detention details. According to Viktor, on February, 26, at 10 am Ivan Burgudji came to the Passport Office of South Tushino police department to get his internal passport as a citizen of Russian Federation. Burgudji was the citizen of Russian Federation and beyond, but were using his external passport. Some time ago Ivan Burgudji handed the whole package of necessary documents to the Passport Office and today had to get an internal passport. He has been detained directly in the building of local police department. Now he is in temporary holding facility of South Tushino District. Viktor Burgudji is not allowed to see the father and has no idea what is going on with Ivan Burgudji.
