Recall of US ambassador to Azerbaijan is connected with trafficking of Azerbaijani girls?

Baku Gyundelik Azerbaijan newspaper has supposed that early recall of US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Reno Harnish, and murder of his interpreter Zarifa Jabiyeva in Baku last days are connected with trafficking of Azerbaijani girls to the USA.

According to the newspaper, the US embassy in Baku is involved in the dirty affair, and the interpreter was murdered because of revenge.

In its turn, PR-officer of the US embassy to Azerbaijan Jonathan Henik stated on March 30, “revelation of crime, connected with trafficking of Azerbaijan girls to the USA, and punishment of criminals are evidence of the high level of US-Azerbaijani relations. Early recall of US Ambassador Reno Harnish and murder of former embassy’s employee Zarifa Jabiyeva are not connected with trafficking of Azerbaijan girls to the USA”.

“Reno Harnish was recalled to the USA in connection with his commission to a higher position. Besides, the American embassy played certain role in revelation of the crime, connected with trafficking of Azerbaijani girls. Now, people who granted visas at the consulate 2-3 years ago, do not work at the embassy,” said Henik for Azery-Press Information Agency.

It should be reminded, former US embassy’s employee, interpreter Zafira Jabiyeva was cruelly murdered (more than 50 knife stabs) in her own apartment. Because of the fact, criminal proceeding on charge of especially cruel murder was instituted. She worked at the US embassy till March 2005.
