Timing of Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents’ meeting to be determined after CIS summit
A meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents Robert Kocharyan and Ilham Aliyev is scheduled to be held at the Russian embassy in Minsk later on November 28. According to spokesman for the Armenian president Viktor Sogomonyan, time of the meeting depends on when the meeting of presidents of the Commonwealth in the reduced format will be finished.
It is worth reminding, an agreement on conducting the meeting was reached during the recent visit to the region of Russian and French co-Chairs of OSCE Minsk Group on settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict. Also, it is worth stressing that the meeting became possible after Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers held three rounds of talks in Moscow, in Paris on October 24, and in Brussels on November 14. It is worth stressing, too, the presidential meeting will start at presence of Armenian and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers Vardan Oskanyan and Elmar Mamedyarov, as well as Russian FM Sergey Lavrov, OSCE Chairman-in-Office Karel de Gucht, and personal representative of the OSCE CIO Andrzej Kasprzyk. Then, the two countries’ presidents will meet tête-à-tête.
