Secretary-General of CSTO: Coalition efforts yield no results
The situation in Afghanistan has been showing a trend for worsening, Secretary-General of the CSTO Nikolai Bordyuzha said at a press conference in Moscow today, on December 12, a REGNUM correspondent reports.
According to Bordyuzha, the Taliban recovered its troops and command system, currently they monitor important territories. The exceedingly unstable situation is developing in Pakistan because of it. And unfortunately the coalition efforts yield no results, Bordyuzha said.
Bordyuzha said, answering a question concerned his attitude to offers voiced recently to get a dialogue underway with representatives of the Taliban movement, that the CSTO did not consider issues of dialogue. As for our member-states, the position is the dialogue is inexpedient and irrelevant so far, Bordyuzha said.
