Locum tenens will act as the Russian Patriarch
A locum tenens to act as the Russian Patriarch will be elected on December 6, the head of the Orenburg Eparchy press office Alexander Azarenkov told a REGNUM correspondent.
In accordance with the Charter, after death of the Patriarch, Mitropolit Krutitsky and Kolomensky Yuvenaliy will lead the Moscow Eparchy.
As REGNUM informed earlier, Moscow and Russian Patriarch Alexy II died in his Peredelkino residence outside Moscow on Friday, December 5. Services for the deceased Patriarch are being held already in Orthodox churches across Russia.
