Christmas fair in Veliky Novgorod to be held with Hanseatic flavor
Preparations have started in Veliky Novgorod for the Christmas fair that will be held for the first time in the city. As a REGNUM-News correspondent was told today, on November 26, at the city government press office, in connection with the 29th Hanseatic Days that were held this June, the fair is to be held with the “Hanseatic flavor.”
Medieval century-style small houses that were created for the Hanseatic Days will be established at the central square of the city, Pobedy-Sofiyskaya Square. “At the present moment, we are formulating the concept of the Hanseatic Christmas Fair, in the near future it will be discussed at a work meeting at the culture and youth policy committee of Veliky Novgorod administration,” the said at the city administration. New-year and Christmas souvenirs, decorations, gifts, pastry and sweets will be presented at the fair.
The fair is planned to be launched on December 17 and last till January 2. The organizer of the event is Novgorod Directorate for Event Management.
