German expert: Ñooperation with Siemens may help Russia to enter the Western European nuclear markets

Read it in Russian

Siemens has decades of business experience and is one of the world market leader in the construction of  nuclear power plants of the latest generation. Russia can benefit from getting technological knowledge as well as improving business relationship. I think that this cooperation may help Russia to enter the Western European nuclear markets, because better business cooperation might be beneficial for both sides. Prof. Dr. Claudia Kemfert, Head of the Energy, Transportation, Environment Department of the German Institute of Economic Research (Germany) said to a REGNUM correspondent on February, 3.

“The Russian energy market is attractive for all companies. I see great growth potentials in Russia as the government intends to increase the share of nuclear energy in order to export fossil fuel and meet the domestic energy demand in Russia. Siemens decided to decline former business relationship in France and to increase the business relationship with Russia — a clever strategy as the growing market potentials are in Russia. I think that there is a good base for cooperation between Russia and Germany and it will be a positive factor for development of bilateral economic relationship on the whole” — stressed Claudia Kemfert.
