Sales volumes of foreign brands in Russia decreased twice or three times

According to Autostat analytic agency forecast, during 2009 the sale volumes of foreign brands in Russia will not exceed 70.000-90.000 cars a month and 1 million per year.

On January results the foreign brands sales decreased by 28.3% in compassion to January, 2008. At the same time, in compassion to last December sales decreased almost twice — from 159.600 to 81.500. Meantime, almost all auto-producers arrange the clearance sales of cars produced in 2008. Prices are reduced by 10-20%, mainly only till the end of February.

According to forecasts, when “cheap” cars will be sold out and there will be only models of 2009 at the market, their sales will fall down twice or three times to 70.000- 90.00 per month, against 200.000-210.000 cars monthly in April — July, 2008.
