MP: Regions Party is in a tough mood, right up to impeaching the Ukrainian president
As far as talks with Our Ukraine are failing and in case Yushchenko does not propose Yanukovich’s candidature for the prime minister’s post, it makes sense for the Regions Party to go for extreme aggravation and impeachment, Regions Party member Taras Chornovil is quoted as saying in an interview to the National Interests News Agency. Full text of his interview was published on the party’s official web-site on July 31, a REGNUM correspondent reports.
According to Chornovil, his party’s position has become rather tough, which can be seen from last session with Yanukovich, Akhmetov, Azarov and Kushnaryov.
Besides, the Regions Party member notes that there is a chance still that Viktor Yanukovich will be appointed as prime minister. At the same time, Taras Chornovil is sure that re-election would settle the matter, the Regions Party would win 50-60% of the votes and would have the majority of 300 votes in the Ukrainian parliament. It would be enough, the MP believes, for launching impeachment to President Yushchenko and amending the constitution in such way that the president would be elected by the Supreme Rada.
