“Last April, during the Bucharest Summit, NATO clearly indicated, that Ukraine and Georgia will be members of Alliance. To my knowledge, there hasn’t been any change in the US position since the Bucharest summit. And as I said, new Administration will be working with its other NATO allies to try to strengthen relationships with Ukraine and Georgia,”- declared Robert Wood, an acting spokesman for the U.S. Department of State  at a daily press briefing in Washington on February, 9, informed the official site of US State Department.

The spokesman repeated the US commitment to improve and strengthen NATO’s relations with both Ukraine and Georgia within the framework of the NATO-Georgia Commissions and the NATO-Ukraine Commissions. “Nevertheless, I don’t want to get ahead of where we may, at some point, go. And leave it at that,” added Wood.
